Following are the steps to insert a vertical line in google docs
  1. Open Google Docs from your chrome browser
  2. Click on Insert Option 
  3. Then Click on "Drawing" and then "+New" Option to open drawing dashboard 
  4. Click on The "line" option 
  5. Draw a vertical line in the drawing area using a mouse
  6. You can customize long vertical line by changing colour, line thickness, dash line etc 
  7. Click The blue button  “Save and Close”
